Where to start......

WELL....we found out on March 1st. February was the first month we were "allowed" to start trying again so I had really been talking myself out of getting excited saying, "there is no way it will happen the first time" when in actuality I had been praying like crazy that it would and knew I would be really let down if it didn't happen. So, crazy me went to buy a baby shower gift at Babies R Us and as I was walking around looking at all the cute things and decided I was going straight to target after leaving there and buying a test! As I am checking out at Target I decide it probably wouldn't look so good if after she rang my pregnancy tests up I darted straight for the bathroom so I headed for the car. About 1/2 a mile down the road I uncontrollably whipped my car into the Sheets gas station and headed for the potty. lol. I finished my business and put the test back in the package before the digital results appeared and went out to the car. There I pulled it back out of the package and saw my results.....PREGNANT. :) I called Drew crying and tried to tell him the news and he hung up on me because for some he thought that I was playing a mean trick on him by crying like something was wrong, then saying that I was pregnant. Little did he know that I was crying because I was so happy! Needless to say....he called me right back almost in tears himself!!

We have now been to the Dr. about 100 times. First it was blood work every 2 days to make sure my HCG (pregnancy hormones) were going up like they were supposed to and since then it has been an ultrasound at 5 weeks (saw the fetal pole & heartbeat) , another ultrasound at 8 weeks (saw baby including arms/legs/head/body, yolk sack, placenta forming, heart beat) then a heartbeat check at 9 1/2 weeks (heard the heartbeat & boy was that music to our ears!!!), then to meet with Dr. Cousins at 10 weeks (full exam and heartbeat check) and then today our big 12 week ultrasound that screens for Downs and other chromosomal diseases. We really only did it because my insurance paid for all of it and it was an extra ultrasound. It was really cool today because the baby looks like a human now and was moving all over the place. The ultrasound tech had a hard time getting the shots she wanted because the baby was moving so much. She even said, "Get your sleep now, its going to be a wild one!!". I wouldn't expect anything less from mine and Drew's child!

So the Dr. says everything looks great! It is so great to hear those words after all we have been through. You have no idea how excited we are to be parents. I have honestly never in my life been as happy, thankful, content and full of sheer joy! Here are some pictures of the journey so far.....
